AI can do anything—except be human

These days, AI writes texts and voices ads. It now even hosts entire podcasts. It sounds surprisingly good. And yet I can feel that something’s missing.

That’s exactly what I talked about on my podcast “The Guest from 307” with Axel Robert Müller. Axel used to be a host on Bayern 3 and now runs an agency for business podcasts. If anyone knows what makes a real voice, it’s him.

Our topic was AI and humanity. Where does technology help us? And where do we need a human?

AI can happily handle the facts

Axel produces podcasts for major companies. He uses AI where it truly helps. The new IT system, the cafeteria card, the tire change in the fleet—an AI voice can easily read out info like that.

You can use these AI tools for the news segment to save a bit on costs.

AI is also fantastic for generating ideas. Get five title suggestions in seconds, kick off a concept, cut Reels. That saves time. I use it myself.

The important moments need a human

It gets interesting where things get personal. When things get tough in a company, you need a real voice. A voice that gets quieter when it gets hard. And someone who truly listens.

You can hardly teach that to a machine. I see the same thing in music.

An AI song sounds good the first time, but it doesn’t open anything up.

It sounds polished. But the vibration still doesn’t happen. And it’s exactly that vibration that moves us.

The longing for the real thing is growing

AI is still young—maybe a few years. And yet we can already feel a counter-movement. Axel compares it to food: twenty years ago, lots of people suddenly wanted to know what was really in it. Organic instead of chemicals.

Today people ask themselves: Is that a human speaking, or a machine? Audiobooks with AI voices are getting better and better. And still it feels weird when you know it’s technology speaking. You want to be reached.

There are enough smart minds

As AI takes over more work, teams will get smaller. In a company with 180 people, you’ll always find someone you click with. In a team of five, every relationship counts. That’s when togetherness becomes the most important factor.

It’s no use if we end up with nothing but smart minds, but no good people.

Daniel Stock

What frequency are you on right now?

This question has been with me for years. When you’re on the right frequency, you can feel the person in front of you. A song moves you. A conversation opens something up inside you.

That’s exactly what I’m about: playfully reconnecting people with themselves and with others. AI is a powerful tool for that. But for the real thing, we still need us humans. In the end, what matters is how we’re doing with ourselves and with each other.

FAQ: AI and humanity

AI helps enormously with facts and routine info. When it comes to emotional topics, you need a real voice and someone who listens.

For news, standard info, and as an idea generator. A short info segment in an employee podcast is a good example.

AI takes over more tasks, and teams get smaller. Then every relationship counts, and togetherness is what decides.

It’s about changing perspectives and what gets people moving. Daniel Stock talks with exciting guests and shares his own experiences.
